How many hours of fasting before surgery?
Preoperative fasting: unless given a specific instruction, in general the patient will have to fast for 8 hours from solid food and 2 hours from liquids before the surgery.
How do I prevent my pet from touching the wound?
The methods vary according to the patient’s character. The Elizabethan collar is widely used, along with bandages or others. The collar is short enough to let the patient eat and drink.
How many days for the stitches to be taken out?
Generally, stitches are taken out on the postoperative check-up 7 to 10 days after the surgery. Sometimes absorbable intradermal sutures are used, in which case it is not necessary to removed them.
